Yak 1.1.1

I’ve just released YAK version 1.1.1 (although it won’t show up on the WordPress site for a while).

This release includes the following changes:

  • “Hard-code” the PayPal IPN page. This means you don’t need to create it manually. Instead just specify: http://yourdomain.com/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/yak-for-wordpress/yak-paypal-ipn.php
  • Add Italian translation, provided by Roberto Mogliotti.
  • Change the download message to use the tag [downloads] rather than a code.
  • Change the email confirmation message to use tags rather than codes.
  • Fix a nasty problem zeroing price and alternate title when commenting on a product.
  • Fix a problem with the random order number.

I’ve also removed support for the old tags (the html comment form such as <!−−yak_buy−−>), so you’ll need to change your posts to use square brackets if you upgrade (e.g.

YAK shopping cart plugin for WordPress
).

As usual, this release has only been fully tested by… well, me… so there may be some bugs I’ve missed — if you find something, please post on the Bugs page or email me directly.

I am having a hard time to get it running.
Pages with yak_price custom field don’t appear as products.

No custom field any more. The YAK Product Details tab should appear at the bottom of the post somewhere — unless something has gone drastically wrong.

Custom field filled in with yak_price was there. Product details tab was in there as well. However price text input of the product details tab was empty, even if the yak_price custom field was filled in and saved.

Subsequently yak_price() returned no value in my templates; get_post_meta(.. yak_price) worked.
Products tab in the admin screens didn’t displayed any products. Although best sellers in the stats were recognized as products and their names were displayed correctly.

A new installation of 1.1.1 works just fine. It would have been nice if the old custom fields were imported in the new database schema employed when upgrading but I realize your time constraints Jason. At any rate thank you very much for sharing this great plugin.

Looking forward to the next version with integrated UPS and/or USPS shipping calculation… that was a feature request. ;)

God bless,
monk Gregory
