Jason R. Briggs is a writer, technical architect and developer with over 16 years experience in the IT industry. He has written for ONJava, ONLamp, Java Developers Journal, JavaWorld and Linux Devices, and worked on projects for clients such as HSBC Investment Bank (UK), Carlton Online (UK), and (while an employee) at various software houses in New Zealand.

He spent a 2 year stint as a Contributing Editor for Java Developer’s Journal in the early noughties (that’s early-2000′s if you don’t speak twee), which wasn’t half as glamorous as it sounded, and was where he discovered that writing is hellaciously more fun (and less pressure) than editing, and trying to keep writers to deadlines.

He currently lives in the United Kingdom, with his wife and daughter; but has divided his time during the last decade between New Zealand and the United Kingdom — which, when he thinks about it, is entirely too much time spent hurtling through the skies in a glorified tin can.
